Lower Competition

With a short double chair in the beginner area, two base-to-summit triple chairs for advanced skiers, and a quad servicing intermediate terrain, Berkshire East has lifts to get to all types of terrain, and there is a lot of it! Featuring 400 acres of ski slopes and 45 trail, Berkshire East tops the Massachusetts chart, also bringing home the awards for most vertical and highest average annual snowfall. The most impressive part of this large operation? 100% Snowmaking. Our favorite trail is Competition, which is steeper advanced terrain at the top and transitions to an intermediate slope, with one big headwall and final pitch down to the main lodge.

The Outback Trail is over 2 miles long, at 13,200 feet it's the longest trail

It takes a lot of snowmaking power to claim 100% snowmaking on 400 acres of terrain.

The progression of three parks on exhibition, all serviced by a fixed-grip quad chairlift, make room for a lot of features on Berkshire East’s long trails. There is a lot of potential and a great mix of riding the mountain and park if you utilize the 400 acres of terrain.

Great memories here. So many good stories from those chairlift rides and ski runs.
